Khalil Abdul Wahid, Curator of the 30th Annual exhibition of Emirates fine Arts Society 2012 at Sharjah Art Museum and Visual Arts Manager at The Culture and Arts Authority.
The Emirati visual artist Khalil Abdul Wahid was born in Dubai in UAE in 1974. He is a member of Emirate Fine Art Society. Khalil received a Bachelor of Science from the Pennsylvania State University in 2001. He also studied computer aided drafting and design as well as heating technology at the Pennsylvania College of Technology.
He has a proven track record of participations regionally and internationally such as: Art Park “Bidoun Video 2010 programs’ Madinat Jumeirah Art Dubai, Sharjah International Biennial, The International Young Visual Arts Entrepreneur Award- London, Art From The Emirates- National Museum- Copenhagen, Denmark and also participated in most Annual Exhibitions of Emirates Fine Arts Society. khalil has won many of awards such as: Distinguished Prize Sharjah International Biennial 1997, First Prize 13th Annual Exhibition of EFAS’ 1993 and Jury Prize CF Abu Dhabi 1994.
Khalil Abdulwahid displays his understanding the different event visual artistic elements in his video work, while attracting the viewer to activity participate thus facilitating a better comprehension of the visual symbols the artist employs.
Muna AbdulQader AlAli, Member of the Emirates Fine Arts Society
Muna AbdulQader AlAli is a visual artist who born in Dubai in UAE, and who works with conceptual arts. She holds an Executive MBA in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. She focuses on Video art as a medium in her latest artworks, which won a special jury award in DIFF in its 9th edition and the Third award in the 30th Annual Exhibition of Emirates Art society in 2012. She had her first solo exhibition in 2009 in Sharjah Art Museum, and she had participated in many national and internationals exhibitions such as in Arc Biennial of Art in Australia, and The 1st International Roaming Biennial of Tehran, and Sekka art Fair in Dubai, and The Reflective Mirror in New York in USA. Muna also, a writer who published her 1st group short stories book in 2009 and has been translated into Urdu and Germany. She was a Jury member in several art competitions.
Nasir A. Nasralla, Member of the Emirates Fine Arts Society
For Nasir Nasrallah (b. 1984), making art is about experimenting with and synthesizing materials, be they physical objects, ideas or theorems. His work is a highly personal response to his environment; the people and places he comes across. It is a direct result of his thoughts and feelings and his desire to communicate his inner life to the viewer. Nasrallah is driven by the desire to test new concepts and methodologies, and to utilize them where they can enrich his artwork. He is stimulated by the physical objects he collects and feels drawn to use in his work, such as toys, small consumer items, buttons, paper, wood, and pieces of hardware.
Nasrallah has a B.Eng in Telecommunication degree Engineering from Khalifa University in Sharjah.
He took art courses at the Emirates Fine Arts Society whilst studying for his degree, and participated in exhibitions inside and outside the UAE, including the Annual Exhibition of the Emirates Fine Art Society and the Cairo Biannual in 2006. Nasrallah currently holds the position of Vice President of the Emirates Fine Art Society and is an Ambassador for The UAE Board on Books for Young People (UAEBBY).
He had two solo exhibitions in 2009 and 2011, and he won the First Prize award at the Emirates Fine Art Society’s 30th Annual Exhibition in 2012. Also participated Also participated in Sharjah Biennial 11 and Art Dubai in 2013.
